Who wins the Michael Bisping vs.Georges St-Pierre fight and why?

Bisping because GSP has been out too long. Bisping has been in the cage with Anderson Silva and other great fighters since GSP has been gone, and has gotten better.

I’ll take Michael Bisping in this one. He seems intensely focused and rearing to go. St-Pierre on the other hand has been away for quite some time which will lead to a rusty performance in my opinion. More so than that though, Bisping will just overpower St-Pierre which will take away any sort of strategical advantage that St. Pierre could hope for. I see this fight going the distance and ending in a unanimous decision in the champion’s favor.

I want to pick GSP because it would be such an epic story, but I just don’t see it happening. He seemed to be fading towards the end of his welterweight run and I’m not sure that taking four years off and moving up a weight class is going to help things. Michael Bisping has honestly looked better than ever, and I think he will out strike GSP in route to a unanimous decision victory, or perhaps even a late round TKO stoppage.

I think GSP controls Bisping and wins by decision. I feel like I shouldn’t underestimate Bisping, but he hasn’t been super impressive and I just feel that GSP wouldn’t have taken this fight if he wasn’t extremely confident. Bisping has talked a good game, but I feel like he’s not going to be able to match the intensity that GSP will bring.

I have been going back and forth on this for months but I am going with Georges St-Pierre by unanimous decision. The odds are stacked against St-Pierre. He is coming off a 4 year lay off. He is moving up in weight class and going straight to a championship fight.  Typically when a high level fighter changes weight classes they usually have a fight against a non top ten fighter.  St-Pierre is not taking that route and will jump right in against middleweight champion Michael Bisping.

Bisping will have a size and reach advantage that will make it difficult for St-Pierre to get inside. However, Bisping is 38 years old and did not exactly light the world on fire in his decision victory over Dan Henderson in the 47 year old’s fight final. Bisping has proven to be the better boxer than St-Pierre over their careers but St-Pierre  has been training non stop with legendary boxing trainer, Freddie Roach. I think the biggest question is how will St-Pierre’s conditioning be. If he comes into this fight in 5 round title fight shape he should be able to wear down Bisping over time and grind his way to a decision victory.

GSP will do what he usually does and take Bisping down and keep him there all five rounds.  It won’t be that exciting but it will be effective.  That being said I’m still excited for this fight and even though GSP will win, his face will look like he was beaten half to death.  He bruises so easily.

I think GSP comes back strong in this fight and wins a tough fight by decision.  He has always been able to outwork opponents and be better all around.  He outstrikes strikers and out wrestles wrestlers. Bisping is only doing this fight for the money.
