After a dominate performance against Tonya Evinger at UFC 214, the current UFC Women’s Featherweight Champion, Cristiane Justino Venâncio (a/k/a Cyborg), is already eyeing her next fight: “The Preacher’s Daughter” Holly Holm.

Cyborg took to Instagram and posted a photoshopped picture of two squaring off with the following comment:

#CyborgNation I just called my manager @primetime360esm and told him I want to fight @hollyholm #UFC219 in LAS VEGAS #CyborgVHolm if you want to see this fight New Years now is the time to send your messages to the @ufc @danawhite

Brasil quero lutar contra a lutadora que venceu a Ronda, no Ano Novo em Las Vegas! Envie suas mensagens para o @ufc_brasil e diga que deseja #cyborgnation em #ufc219

If Cyborg gets her way, the fight would happen on December 30, 2017 at the T-Mobile Arena in Las Vegas, Nevada.  However, there is some speculation that the UFC would like that fight to happen on the Michael Bisping vs. George St. Pierre card in New York at UFC 217.  Cyborg quickly shot that possibility down as she tweeted:

I don’t want share my boxing coach fight night. I will not fight same week bispbing. I want Holly in Vegas NY commission need experience MMA

If the fight takes place, it would be Holly Holm’s second chance at the UFC Featherweight Championship.  In her first attempt, Holm lost via unanimous decision to Germaine de Randamie.

Kim’s Take:  This is the fight that should’ve happened at UFC 208 for the inaugural Women’s Featherweight Championship.  Even though Holly is a bantamweight, the number of competitors in the Women’s Featherweight Division, besides Cyborg, is virtually nil.  Holm is really the only fight that makes sense for the UFC (and Cyborg).

Aside from the logical match-making, this fight is very intriguing as well.  Holm is a highly-skilled, highly-technical, and highly-decorated striker.  Although Cyborg showed improved technique and patience in her last fight against Tony Evinger, Cyborg has more of a brawling style.  Holm has proven that she does well against brawlers.  Just look at her fights against Rousey and Correia.  Holm’s movement, feints, and footwork can cause a lot of problems for Cyborg on the feet.
