Bellator 264
GOOD- Ty Gwerder vs. Khadzhimurat Bestaev
They traded strikes early before Gwerder dropped Bestaev with a big left hand. He lets him up, though and they go the ground towards the end of the first round. Bestaev unloads on Gwerder but can’t finish him. Bestaev turned up the pace in the second round but Gwerder fired back. Bestaev staggers Gwerder with a big left hand of his own in the third round. Gwerder survives and gets a takedown. Gwerder is bleeding a lot but Bestaev does some more damage and gets the decision victory from the judges. Good win for Bestaev.

GOOD- Davion Franklin stops Everett Cummings
Franklin throws a headkick that kind of lands but he followed up with some really big punches as Cummings went to the ground and the referee was forced to jump in to stop the fight just 21 seconds into the first round. Good win for Franklin.

GOOD- Magomed Magomedov vs. Raufeon Stots
They traded kicks early but there wasn’t a whole lot else going on in the first round until Stots got a late takedown to win the round. The second round saw some really nice striking from both men and some good wrestling as well. Magomedov kept going for takedowns but kept getting stuffed. Stots almost cinched a rear-naked choke in during the third round but Magomedov survived and escaped. Magomedov then tried to get a submission of his own to win the fight but he couldn’t get it. Stots gets the decision victory from the judges, good win for him as he improves his career record to 17-1.

GOOD- Andrey Koreshkov vs. Sabah Homasi
The first round was really close and again saw some nice striking from both men. Koreshkov started pulling away in the second round but Homasi fought hard. He got cut and looked tired but he was still fighting. Koreshkov turned it up even more in the third round and made it clear that he was the better fighter tonight. Koreshkov got the decision win from the judges, good win for him.

GOOD- Gegard Mousasi stops John Salter
Mousasi successfully defended his Bellator Middleweight Championship with this win. Salter got a takedown on his second attempt and glued to him for a while before Mousasi finally got up. Salter tried for another takedown as the round came to a close but couldn’t get it. Salter got another takedown in the second round but eventually Mousasi got on top and start unleashing on Salter with elbows and punching, really working his ground-and-pound. Salter tried for another takedown in the third round but Mousasi reversed it and got on top himself. As in the second round he started beating the hell out of Salter and the referee was forced to jump in to stop the fight. Good win for Mousasi.

Ronaldo “Jacare” Souza has officially retired from MMA. He lost his last four fights and five of his last six but at one point was a feared competitor and a former Strikeforce Middleweight Champion. He’s also an eight-time World Jiu-Jitsu Champion and is considered one of the best Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu practitioners of all time. He may not have won UFC titles but he had a great career.

My book has gone live on Amazon. It’s called Small Town Crime Cabal. It’s about a brother and sister who operate a drug and gambling ring in their small hometown. They want more, though, and hope to expand beyond the limits of where they grew up. That comes with a price, though, and the question becomes- are they willing to pay the price?
This is the first in my Brotherhood of the Streets series. It’s on Kindle Unlimited right now or you can buy it in e-book or paperback form.
