Frankie Edgar won’t be fighting at UFC’s 25th anniversary event next month. ESPN is reporting that Edgar is suffering from a torn left bicep forcing him from the planned main event opposite Chan Sung Jung.
Stepping in on short notice is Yair Rodriguez. The bout will remain five rounds and serve as the evening’s main event.
Both Rodriguez and Jung, “The Korean Zombie,” have spent considerable time on the shelf. Rodriguez last fought in May 2017, losing by TKO to Edgar. Jung has not fought since February 2017 when he defeated Dennis Bermudez. Prior to that Jung had not fought since August 2013 when he challenged Jose Aldo for the featherweight championship. Jung fulfilled mandatory Korean military service between the Aldo and Bermudez fights.
The Nov. 10 event from Denver is being promoted as UFC’s 25th Anniversary celebration. It is taking place at Denver’s Pepsi Center, in the same city as UFC’s inaugural event in 1993.

Other fights scheduled for the FS1 televised show include Donald Cerrone taking on Mike Perry and Raquel Pennington up against former UFC Featherweight Champion Germaine de Randamie.
