Unified MMA will air Unified MMA 33 via Fite TV pay-per-view on Friday May 11. MMATorch’s Dylan Bowker spoke with two combatants competing in title fights, along with the events promoter.

Shane Campbell
Shane Campbell is set to defend his Unified MMA lightweight title in a rematch with Stephen Beaumont on Friday, May 11th. This is the 33rd Unified MMA event and this bout was moved over from December’s card which came as a result of the combat sport moratorium in the city of Edmonton. Shane is a decorated Muay Thai practitioner and brings a wealth of experience from that world. Campbell has well over 80 fights but also has an effective, ever improving grappling game as evidenced by his last MMA performance. Shane “Shaolin” is a former UFC veteran and is looking to make an impressive statement here to perhaps once again garner the attention of the Ultimate Fighting Championship. Teddy Ash
Teddy Ash vies for the Unified MMA Light-Heavyweight title in the main event of Unified 33 on Friday. His opponent Jacob Ortiz has experience in Bellator and Fight Nights Global. His experience does present an interesting set of challenges for Ash who is a top three 205er in the country. Teddy has a four fight win streak going with stoppage wins in his last three. This is the main event of the May 11th card at River Cree Resort and Casino in Enoch, Alberta. People can also catch it from the comfort of their home on Fite TV.
Sunny Sareen
Sunny Sareen is the owner and promoter of Unified MMA. I was able to get some of his time and break down some of the bigger bouts on his upcoming card. We also talked about how the promotion dealt with the Edmonton combat sports moratorium, working with a new commission/ venue for this Unified event, and promotional goals for the future which include finding a suitable TV-based content distributor.
