Who wins the Henry Cejudo vs. Sergio Pettis fight and why?

Cejudo hands down. He’s passes my standard eye test as the better fighter and he’ll show it Saturday night. In his last fight, he came out like a man possessed and looked very strong. I think that mentality will carry over to this weekend and he’ll just be on a different level than Pettis. I’m taking Cejudo with a knockout in the second round.

Henry Cejudo should have the strength advantage and be able to control Sergio Pettis and win via stoppage in the 2nd round.  He will overpower Pettis and should outstrike and wrestle Pettis to get a finish.

I think Cejudo takes this and finishes Pettis in the second round by TKO. I think Cejudo gets Pettis down and starts unloading on him until the ref has to step in. I think Cejudo is on a mission to get another title shot and he’s not going to let anyone get in his way. Pettis is good, but I think Cejudo comes through with a big statement win.

Love this fight.  Cejudo keeps getting better and better at his overall game, despite the thrashing he took from DJ and a tough decision loss to Joseph Benavidez, he’s really evolved from that one dimensional wrestler and has some mega power in his hands for that division.  Pettis has been impressing from the word GO in his UFC career.  He’s great on his feet and on the floor, but he lacks the big punching power of his opponent and at times shows a major lack of urgency.  For the health of the division a Pettis win is the best result, but I think the pressure from Cejudo will wear Pettis down and he’ll be able to put him away.  Cejudo by late TKO.

I think Henry Cejudo wins this fight by decision.  This a huge fight for the flyweight division as the winner could be in line for a title shot. The former Olympic wrestler, Cejudo has improved his striking game but will want to turn this fight into a wrestling match. Sergio Pettis is a technical striker who can land strikes from nearly any angle. He is on a four fight win streak against very good competition but going against a former title challenger in Cejudo will be a bit too much for him to overcome. Pettis’ take down defense just is not quite there yet and I think Cejudo will whether the 1st round attack of Pettis and get this fight to the ground where he will grind out a decision win.

Both have been on a tear but Henry Cejudo has too much in his arsenal. Pettis is going to end up like his brother Anthony in a few years, struggling to remain relevant after his rise to the top. Henry Cejudo vs Mighty Mouse 2 should be where Cejudo finally wins the big one. Cejudo certainly has all the tools and the talent to dethrone the champ.
