Professional Fighters Association press conference announced for Thursday night

By Wade Keller, MMATorch supervising editor

The Professional Fighters Association had announced a press conference taking place this Thursday at 7:30 at the MGM in Las Vegas. It is open to all fighters, managers, and members of the media to attend.

Says the press statement sent to MMATorch moments ago: “In light of last week’s official launch, Jeff Borris would like to invite you to further discuss the continued mission of the Professional Fighters Association, as well as address all pertinent questions.”

Keller’s Reax: This is another step toward what could be one of the bigger stories in MMA history if this comes to fruition. The Fertittas might be glad they got out when they did for a whole new reason if this turns into a headache for UFC and other MMA promoters. It also could end up being good for the sport, not just the fighters, if a better pay scale for lower card fighters and better working conditions for all are a result, as it could attract a wider array of more prepared, healthier fighters who can make a full time living and pay for the best training due to increased pay.
