“St-Pierre never fought at middleweight. I don’t know what he’s doing here. To me, he’s a chicken. If I get him, I’ll break him in half. He’s retired and wants to fight for the title in a division he never fought before? He always ran away from Anderson [Silva], ran from fighting at 185 [lbs], and now he wants the belt? Look, I’ll give him this chance, and it’s going to be easy for me. I would pass on fighting for the belt only to fight him if he moves up. He’s a chicken. If he wants to move up, I would let Bisping for later, since I know I’m the next in line. If he wants to move up, I want him. I will break his neck.”
-In an interview with Guilherme Cruz at MMAFighting.com, Ronaldo “Jacare” Souza rips into Georges St-Pierre for wanting to return against Michael Bisping.
Penick’s Analysis: He’s got every right to be frustrated as everyone’s coming out trying to usurp his title fight because they think Bisping’s a beatable champion. For St-Pierre to call for that fight now when he never committed to moving up before does come off as opportunistic, but I don’t know that he can really be blamed for that. He wants the most interesting money fights in his return, Bisping having the title puts that fight up near the top of the list. Still, if he comes back and beats Bisping, Souza might get his chance to follow through on his words.
