Police in Edmonton, Alberta, Canada have arrested and charged two suspects in the death of UFC vet Ryan Jimmo following a fatal hit and run early Sunday morning.

The police department announced on Tuesday that 23-year-old Anthony Getschel and 21-year-old Jordan Wagner have been apprehended and charged for their respective roles in the incident.

Getschel has been determined to be the driver of the vehicle that ran Jimmo down following a “brief verbal argument,” and he’s been charged with “second degree murder, criminal negligence causing death, dangerous operation of a motor vehicle causing death, and fail to stop at scene of accident involving death.” Wagner, meanwhile, has been charged as an accessory after the fact.

No court date is yet set for either individual.

Penick’s Analysis: It’s such a senseless situation. Two young lives are now irreparably changed because of one’s horrible decision in a heated moment, while another has been tragically cut short. It’s not yet known what type of time they’ll be facing, but the driver deserves whatever’s coming his way. It’s not much solace to Jimmo’s friends and family, but at least the person responsible has been found and will be held accountable.
