Holly Holm has reportedly turned down an offer for a movie role this summer, with TMZ Sports stating the offer came from a “major” Hollywood studio.

The former UFC Women’s Bantamweight Champion is preparing for a headlining fight against Valentina Shevchenko at UFC on Fox 20 this summer, and hopes to move back into a title fight after losing the belt to Miesha Tate in March. With the fight on the horizon, the proposed filming dates would have conflicted with her training, leading her to allegedly refuse the part.

According to her rep Lenny Fresquez, she’s got continued goals inside the cage, and that’s where her focus remains into her summer return.

“She’s focused on fighting,” said Fresquez. “We don’t want to make the same mistakes that somebody else made.”

Penick’s Analysis: Solid passive aggressive dig at Rousey from Fresquez there. It’s smart on her part if she wants to get back on top to not take on more than she can handle, and if that part would have affected her training in any way it’s the right move not to take it. She’s got to beat Shevchenko and hope Ronda Rousey’s staying on the sidelines for a while so she can get her rematch with Tate or a title fight against Amanda Nunes in the fall.
