Cub Swanson vs. Tatsuya Kawajiri reportedly targeted for UFC Fight Night 92 in Salt Lake City

A fight between Cub Swanson and Tatsuya Kawajiri is in the works for the UFC’s first ever event in Utah this August, according to a report from MMAFighting.com.

Swanson returned to the cage in April after a year long layoff, and halted a two-fight losing streak when he defeated Hacran Dias in an impressive performance. He had dropped fights to top five fighters Frankie Edgar and Max Holloway in his two prior outings.

Kawajiri had a two fight winning streak snapped in his most recent fight, as he dropped a decision to Dennis Bermudez in February. The 38-year-old veteran is now 3-2 overall since making his UFC debut in 2014.

The UFC Fight Night 92 event will take place from the Vivint Smart Home Arena in Salt Lake City on August 6, and is the organization’s first trip ever to the state after a planned trip in 2010 was scrapped due to poor ticket sales. No headliner is yet set.
