Luke Rockhold says he “took the life” out of Chris Weidman, “humiliated” Michael Bisping in respective first bouts

By Jamie Penick, MMATorch Editor-in-Chief

“I believe I took the life out of Weidman. I beat him down and I broke him. With Bisping, I humiliated Bisping. I beat him like he’s never been beat in his whole career. Some guys just don’t learn… [When Weidman pulled out] my thoughts immediately jumped to the next guy and started thinking about how I was going to keep on this card and keep my paycheck and not waste my time. I’m not here to waste my time. I’m here to fight, I’m here to get paid, I’m here to live my dream. So it doesn’t really matter right now. What matters is getting paid and Bisping has a big, fat mouth and it needs to get shut. He can sell a fight and I can shut him up. Put that all together and I’m a happy man.”

-Luke Rockhold talks to FoxSports.com with further thoughts on his opponent switch at UFC 199.

Penick’s Analysis: Rockhold’s been on fire a bit into this event, dropping quotable lines left and right. He’s coming from a position of supreme confidence given what he did in his fights with both Weidman and Bisping previously, so it makes sense he’d continue highlighting that, but it’s working for him and helps in selling the fight come Saturday night.
