UFC 198 Medical Suspensions: Warlley Alves, Yancy Medeiros out up to six months due to orbital bone injuries

The Brazilian MMA Athletic Association handed out medical suspensions to the fighters on Saturday’s UFC 198 event, with two fighters out up to six months pending doctors clearance.

Those two fighters are Warlley Alves and Yancy Medeiros, who were each suspected of suffering broken orbital bones in their respective losses. Each can be cleared earlier by doctors should the injuries not be as severe as feared. Only one other fighter, Vitor Belfort, received more than a 45 day suspension, as he’s out 60 days following his loss to Ronaldo “Jacare” Souza.

Renato Moicano: Suspended 21 days, 14 days no contact
Luan Chagas: Suspended 30 days, 21 days no contact
Sergio Moraes: Suspended 30 days, 21 days no contact
Antonio Rogerio Nogueira: Suspended 14 days, seven days no contact
Patrick Cummins: Suspended 45 days, 30 days no contact
Rob Font: Suspended 21 days, 14 days no contact
John Lineker: Suspended 14 days, seven days no contact
Francisco Trinaldo: Suspended 14 days, seven days no contact
Yancy Medeiros: Suspended 180 days, or 45 days with 30 days no contact if cleared
Nate Marquardt: Suspended 45 days, 30 days no contact
Thiago Santos: Suspended 14 days, seven days no contact
Matt Brown: Suspended 14 days, seven days no contact
Demian Maia: Suspended 14 days, seven days no contact
Warlley Alves: Suspended 180 days, or 45 days with 30 days no contact if cleared
Bryan Barbarena: Suspended 30 days, 21 days no contact
Corey Anderson: Suspended 14 days, seven days no contact
Mauricio Rua: Suspended 14 days, seven days no contact
Leslie Smith: Suspended 45 days, 30 days no contact
Cris Cyborg: Suspended 14 days, seven days no contact
