The third fight for the UFC’s debut in Ottawa, Ontario, appears to be set, as Combate in Brazil reported over the weekend that Jason Saggo will take on Leandro Silva on the card.
Saggo is fresh off his return to action earlier this month after 17 months out of the cage. The Ontario native took out Justin Salas in the first round at UFC 196, his second TKO victory in three UFC appearances, with his third bout a losing effort by split decision against Paul Felder.
Sao Paulo’s Silva is 3-1 in the UFC with one no contest, coming after the referee mistakenly called an end to his fight with Drew Dober without Dober actually submitting, leading to the result being overturned. Silva made two more appearances in 2015 after that bout, winning both of them by decision over Lewis Gonzalez and Efrain Escudero.
The Ottawa event will be UFC Fight Night 89, and airs live on Fox Sports 1 on June 18 with a headlining bout between Rory MacDonald and Stephen “Wonderboy” Thompson.
