Invicta FC’s next event on UFC Fight Pass is coming on May 7, with Invicta FC President Shannon Knapp announcing this week that Bantamweight Champion Tanya Evinger will defend her title against Colleen Schneider in the night’s main event.

Knapp made the announcement during an interview on Sirius XM’s “The Luke Thomas Show,” (via MMAFighting.com). No venue has yet been announced, but Knapp said the card will happen in Southern California.

The 34-year-old Evinger captured the title in July of last year, taking out Irene Aldana by TKO in the fourth round. She defeated Pannie Kianzad in her next fight last September, though that was a non-title contest after Kianzad missed weight.

The ten year pro is 16-6 overall in her career, and has won eight straight fights dating back to 2011. Her last two losses came against UFC title challenger Sara McMann and current UFC competitor Alexis Davis, but she’s unbeaten under the Invicta banner, and has stopped four straight opponents into this latest appearance.

Schneider gets a title fight off a 9-2 run in her last eleven fights. She’s made just two appearances in the Invicta cage, losing to the aforementioned Aldana in February of 2015, then winning three straight out of the organization before returning with a win on January’s Invicta FC 15 card.

The May 7 card will serve as Invicta FC 17. No other bouts have yet been revealed for the event, but it will air live on UFC Fight Pass.
