The UFC will hold another major multi-event press conference on the eve of UFC 196, announcing on Friday the launch of their “Unstoppable” series from April through June.
As with past iterations of the season-like launch, several headliners for upcoming events will be in attendance on March 4 immediately preceding UFC 196, and the full event schedule will be revealed leading up to July’s UFC 200 event.
In addition to events already known in the U.S., Croatia, the Netherlands, and Brazil, the UFC revealed that an event in Canada will be on the docket as well during the eight-event stretch. Dana White, Junior dos Santos, Ben Rothwell, Khabib Nurmagomedov, Tony Ferguson, Daniel Cormier, Jon Jones, Demetrious Johnson, Henry Cejudo, Luke Rockhold, and Chris Weidman are all slated to be in attendance for the event, which will take place on the weigh-in stage on March 4 at the MGM Grand Garden Arena in Las Vegas.
Penick’s Analysis: The dates already announced are April 10 in Zagreb, April 16 in Tampa, April 23 in Las Vegas, and May 8 in Rotterdam. May 14 is also expected to serve as UFC 198 in Brazil, while UFC 199 is going to take place in June. That leaves openings for two more events that do not yet have official dates and locations, and with Canada announced as one of the locations, that could be where the UFC brings the Rockhold-Weidman rematch for UFC 199. Of course, they could hit a smaller Canadian city for a Fight Night event, but we’ll have more information on that slate of events in just a couple of weeks.
