Dana White thinks it’s “crazy” Conor McGregor’s actually fighting Rafael dos Anjos at UFC 197

“It’s not even about s*** talk with this guy… His mental warfare game is better than anything I’ve ever seen in how he gets in guys’ heads immediately. Very intelligent, calculated. Conor McGregor is a very interesting guy… Conor wants to be a two-belt champion, so he wants to fight [Rafael] Dos Anjos, which is crazy. If you look at [Dos Anjos], look what he did to ‘Cowboy’ Cerrone, look what he did to Ben Henderson, look what he did to Anthony Pettis. And now Conor wants to fight this guy. It’s gonna be awesome.”

Penick’s Analysis: One of the biggest things McGregor has going for him is the fact that it’s not just all talk. Plenty of fighters have expressed lofty goals and plenty more have made outlandish statements. McGregor’s done both time and again and has followed through. Saying he wanted to be a two-division champion and actually going after it are two different things, and that’s what he’s doing. Winning at UFC 197 will continue that, and we’ll find out just how big he can get from there.
