A lightweight bout between Canada’s Chad Laprise and Brazil’s Alan Patrick is headed to Brisbane in March, as Laprise confirmed the bout in an interview with TSN in Canada.
Laprise, who won the Canada vs. Australia “Nations” season of The Ultimate Fighter in 2014, suffered his first career defeat in his most recent outing, getting stopped by Francisco Trinaldo in the first round. That snapped a ten-fight winning streak to kick off his career, and now he’ll fight for the first time outside of his home country on the March 20 card.
Patrick enters in a similar spot, having suffered his first career loss in his most recent outing, also by TKO. That came last June when he got taken out by Mairbek Taisumov, halting a 12-fight winning streak to that point.
The March 20 UFC Fight Night 84 event airs live on UFC Fight Pass in North America due to the time difference on Saturday, March 19, and the card will be headlined by the heavyweight bout between Frank Mir and Mark Hunt.
