Jimy Hettes reportedly out of UFC Fight Night 81 bout with Charles Rosa due to injury

In some unfortunate injury news, featherweight Jimy Hettes is out of a fight with Charles Rosa on next week’s UFC Fight Night 81 event according to multiple published reports.

The matchup was one of the more intriguing undercard bouts, and though Rosa’s expected to remain on the card against a yet-to-be-named replacement opponent, Hettes’ injury woes continue to disappoint.

Hettes, 28, last fought in April of last year, getting stopped by Diego Brandao in his first bout in 13 months. His previous bout was another TKO loss, that to Dennis Bermudez in March of 2014, though he had won three of four previous appearances in the Octagon. Unfortunately, injuries have kept him to just six appearances in a four and a half year span in the organization.

As for Rosa, the 29-year-old is 1-2 through three UFC appearances, though he’s been entertaining and competitive in each. After a short notice loss to Dennis Siver, he submitted Sean Soriano in one year ago before dropping a split decision to Yair Rodriguez in UFC 188’s “Fight of the Night.”

UFC Fight Night 81 hits Boston next Sunday, January 17, headlined by the Bantamweight Championship bout between T.J. Dillashaw and Dominick Cruz. The card airs live on Fox Sports 1.
