Ronda Rousey has made her first comments since last night’s vicious KO loss to Holly Holm at UFC 193, and she’s vowing to return.

Rousey did not appear at the post-fight press conference, as she was rushed to the hospital immediately after the bout, but she posted a brief comment to Instagram Sunday night thanking fans for their concern but assuring all that she’ll be alright.

Penick’s Analysis: Todd Martin and I discussed this a bit in our UFC 193 review podcast this afternoon, and I think this is the right tone of comment for her to make before taking a bit of a break. Of course, there’s nothing on Holm here in terms of congratulating the woman who finally felled her, but it may not be necessary. Now’s the time for her to take some time away, get her bearings back, handle the obligations she still has on her plate, and return strong next year. The comeback story is going to be a significant part of UFC 200 more than likely, and Rousey’s going to likely want time to concentrate on getting better and finding out what she needs to do in order to beat Holm’s style, which on Saturday night seemed her kryptonite.
