Friday’s Bellator 145 event drew solid numbers to Spike, with TheMMAReport.com’s Jason Floyd reporting that the broadcast drew 814,000 viewers.
That’s actually a higher average viewership for the organization than they drew in September for their “Dynamite 1” card headlined by Tito Ortiz, which averaged 800,000 viewers in the initial ratings.
Friday’s event featured two title fights, with Daniel Straus defeating Patricio “Pitbull” Freire for the Featherweight Title in the night’s main event, and Will Brooks successfully defending the Lightweight Title over Marcin Held.
Penick’s Analysis: That’s a real solid number. It’s well above average for Scott Coker’s reign, and up significantly from the lackluster Bellator 144 and 143 numbers. That it beat the numbers for Dynamite is either a big statement for this card or an indictment over the supposed “tent pole” event, but at any rate they should be happy with these figures for what was a solid event on Friday.
