Paul Felder vs. Daron Cruickshank the latest addition to UFC Fight Night “Dillashaw vs. Cruz” in Boston

The UFC’s return to Boston in January has added another lightweight contest, as Paul Felder will take on Daron Cruickshank on the UFC Fight Night card on Jan. 17.

Felder confirmed the fight on Twitter late Wednesday.

The 31-year-old Felder is on a two fight losing skid – the first and only two losses of his career – but hopes a full training camp will lead to a turnaround. In both of those fights, close decision losses to Edson Barboza and Ross Pearson just over a month apart, Felder had stepped in as an injury replacement on relatively short notice.

Now he meets Cruickshank, another lightweight in need of some momentum. The 3o-year-old had posted wins in three of his first four bouts in a busy 2014 campaign, but after an eye poke no contest to K.J. Noons in December, he’s since lost two straight by submission in 2015.

Both fighters attempt to get back in the win column at the TD Garden, and are likely to wind up on the Fox Sports 1 prelims for that event. The main card will air on FS1 following an NFL playoff game on Fox that day, and will be headlined by the UFC Bantamweight Championship bout between T.J. Dillashaw and Dominick Cruz.
