Mark Hunt wants Brock Lesnar’s UFC 200 purse or his release from the UFC after Lesnar’s USADA failure

By Jamie Penick, MMATorch Editor-in-Chief

“I saw Brock made millions for this fight, more than anyone ever. I wanna know what they are gonna do to Brock now. When you don’t make weight they give twenty percent of your purse to the other fighter. If you get caught cheating you should lose all of it. I’ve told Dana I want half of Brock’s purse… I’ve told Dana that I want a release from the UFC if they don’t sort this out. They say they are trying to clean up the sport, but it doesn’t feel like it. The UFC is basically saying if you cheat you won’t be penalised… Well I wanted half but have changed my mind cheaters shouldn’t get shit I want all of it cheaters don’t deserve shit.”

Penick’s Analysis: The problem for Hunt right now is that it’s not going to get sorted out quickly. If Lesnar’s fighting the finding and presents some type of case for a reduced suspension and punishment then he’ll have some level of exoneration. Hunt won’t buy it (and it’s likely not many will regardless of what happens), but the UFC isn’t just going to hand over millions to him over it. I also doubt they grant him his release, so we’ll have to see what he winds up doing if they don’t meet either demand.
