Stipe Miocic injured, out of UFC Fight Night 76 bout with Ben Rothwell in Dublin

Stipe Miocic is out of a fight with Ben Rothwell next weekend at UFC Fight Night 76 in Dublin, Ireland, due to an injury suffered in training.

The injury was first reported by Brian Hemminger at MMAOddsBreaker.com, and subsequently confirmed by the UFC, who says they’re seeking a replacement opponent for the card.

It’s an unfortunate setback for Miocic, who has been hoping to bolster his case for a title fight in the UFC’s heavyweight division. The injury delay in his return pushes that run back. Rothwell is in a similar spot, and likely hopes the UFC can find someone for him to fight to keep him on track in his own run for that title shot.
