A pair of featherweight fights has been added to the Bellator 160 card on August 26 in Anaheim, with the organization announcing A.J. McKee vs. Henry Corrales and Georgi Karakhanyan vs. Bubba Jenkins II for the event on Monday.
The August 26 card airs live on Spike from the Honda Center – Bellator’s first ever appearance in the venue – headlined by a lightweight no. 1 contender bout between Benson Henderson and Patricio “Pitbull” Freire.
McKee, 21, is the son of former UFC competitor and longtime MMA veteran Antonio McKee, and enters his fifth career fight with a perfect record. The young prospect has stopped each of his first four opponents in the first round, with all of his professional fights coming in the Bellator cage.
Corrales makes his fourth appearance in the Bellator cage in search of his first win in the organization. His three fight losing streak since his debut with Bellator in 2015 has come against some of the organization’s best featherweights, including current champ Daniel Straus and former champ Freire.
Karakhanyan met Jenkins in his return to Bellator last January following several years in other promotions, and he picked up a first round submission in that fight. The loss snapped a four fight winning streak for Jenkins, and was just his second career defeat. They’ve gone on opposite runs since that fight, with Karakhanyan losing two straight while Jenkins has won three in a row into this event.
