In addition to the lightweight main event between Michael Johnson and Dustin Poirier at UFC Fight Night 94 in Hidalgo, Texas, the UFC has also announced the co-main event in Uriah Hall vs. Derek Brunson.
The Sept. 17 event will be the UFC’s first ever trip to Hidalgo, and will air live on Fox Sports 1.
Hall gets back into the cage after Anderson Silva’s gallbladder surgery took him out of their scheduled fight at UFC 198 in May. He’s out to bounce back after a loss to Rafael Natal in his last outing in November, which came after his surprising upset over Gegard Mousasi last September.
Brunson looks to extend his four-fight winning streak in this fight, which would push him closer to contention in the middleweight field. He’s scored three straight first round TKO victories, most recently finishing Roan Carneiro in two and a half minutes in February.
