Stipe Miocic may be out of this weekend’s Dublin event, but he’s gotten himself an even more significant booking this January.
According to a report from the LA Times, Miocic will face Andrei Arlovski in the co-main event of UFC 195 in Las Vegas, which comes to the MGM Grand Garden Arena on Jan. 2.
Miocic was scheduled to face Ben Rothwell on Saturday’s UFC Fight Night 76 card in Dublin, but an injury pulled him from the card and scrapped the bout. He enters this card off a win over Mark Hunt earlier this year in Australia, which bounced him back from a close decision loss to Junior dos Santos.
Arlovski has won four straight fights since returning to the UFC last summer, and is attempting to keep himself in line for title contention after his most recent victory over Frank Mir.
UFC 195 airs live on pay-per-view, headlined by the UFC Welterweight Championship bout between Robbie Lawler and Carlos Condit.
Would love to hear Ben Rothwell’s reaction to this.
