Holding two UFC titles at the same time is old news. Amanda Nunes is looking to do something completely unprecedented and hold three simultaneous UFC championships. During a series of tweets Wednesday night, Nunes told her followers that Holly Holm would be a “great fight to defend my belt at 135” and then played around by saying she’d like to fight Daniel Cormier, Jon Jones, or Brock Lesnar. Then Nunes made what appears to be a serious proposition.
“Okay guys I’m done playing,” she wrote. “I’m really planning on going down to fight for the 125 belt.”

Nunes then tagged Perfecting Athletes, a nutrition and wellness company that helps fighters with managing weight cuts. “Let’s do this,” she said in her tweet.
Nunes may be continuing to play around with her followers, but after doing what many thought to be impossible in defeating Cris Cyborg, Nunes may be serious about moving down. She has reason to want to make the move as she holds two closely fought wins over current champion Valentina Shevchenko. One has to wonder though if Nunes could make the 125-pound limit. She has had some difficulty making 135 in the past and looked right at home at 145. The allure of making history may be enough to get her to push through and make the lighter weight though.

-Jose Aldo told MMA Fighting that he wants to fight three times in 2019, all in Brazil, and then retire. “I want to do these three fights… I’ll fight in Fortaleza now, and I’m already negotiating my next one for May (UFC 237) if I’m not mistaken in Curitiba, and then finish it in the second semester, which I know will have another event in Brazil.”
-Pearl Gonzalez will fight Vanessa Porto for the vacant flyweight championship at Invicta FC 34 on Feb. 15 from Kansas City, Kansas.
-Darren Till vs. Jorge Masvidal will headline the UFC London card on March 16. Leon Edwards vs. Gunnar Nelson will serve as the co-main event.
-Edson Barboza vs. Justin Gaethje is in the works for UFC Philadelphia on March 30.
