The UFC has a mega main event for their yearend card-and it is one of the biggest women’s MMA fights in UFC history.
As first reported by Brett Okamotto of ESPN, featherweight champion Cris “Cyborg” Justino will defend her title against bantamweight champion Amanda Nunes at UFC 232 on December 29, at the T-Mobile Arena in Las Vegas.
A fight between the two champions has been speculated about for several months, but recently both sides were unable to agree on a timetable for the bout.
The fight will be the third title defense for Cyborg won the featherweight belt in July of 2017 by defeating Tonya Evinger for the vacant title. In the ensuing time, Cyborg has defended the belt against Holly Holm and Yana Kunitskaya.
Cyborg has an overall MMA record of 21-1-1, with 18 of those victories coming via stoppage.
Nunes captured the bantamweight title at UFC 200 in July of 2016 by defeating Miesha Tate. Since becoming champion, Nunes has had successful defenses against Ronda Rousey, Valentina Shevchenko and Raquel Pennington.
