Next week’s UFC Fight Night 79 event has added a second Dong Hyun Kim to the card, with the newcomer taking on Dominique Steele in the new opening bout for the main card in Seoul, South Korea.
The other Kim, the more well known welterweight, takes on Dominic Waters in the co-main event, a replacement bout after original opponent Jorge Masvidal was pulled into the night’s main event against Benson Henderson.
The new Kim, who goes by the nickname “Maestro,” is 13-6-3 overall in his MMA career into this debut as a late replacement for an injured Hyun Gyu Lim. He’s on a run of seven wins in his last eight bouts. He now meets Steele, who hopes to bounce back from a TKO loss in his UFC debut in July to Zak Cummings.
UFC Fight Night 79 airs live on UFC Fight Pass, and is the UFC’s first ever trip to South Korea.
