UFC Fight Night: Lemos vs. Jandiroba was this past weekend and featured some exciting fights and finishes. Who won and who lost?
Let’s get to the rundown.

UFC Fight Night: Lemos vs. Jandiroba
GOOD- Hyder Amil stops Lee Jeong Yeong
This fight starts with both men connecting with bombs on each other.
Amil is tearing into Lee like it’s a barroom brawl at closing time
after neither could find a girl. Amil is relentless. This is crazy.
Finally, Lee wilts beneath the barrage of punches and the referee has to jump in to stop the fight a little over a minute into the first
round. They went 0-100 real quick. Amil improves to a perfect 10-0 while Lee drops to 11-2 and has his 8 fight winning streak snapped.
Good win for Amil.

GOOD- Choi Doo-ho stops Bill Algeo
Algeo goes for an immediate takedown but Choi answers with a
guillotine. They’re back to their feet and Choi does a Bayley to Belly suplex and jumps on Algeo’s back and starts looking for a rear-naked
choke. Algeo gets him off and they’re clinching on the cage now. Algeo
lands some strikes before getting a takedown. Choi is quickly back up
but Algeo takes him down again just before the first round ends. The second round begins with some striking exchanges. Choi is getting the
better of things before he gets a trip takedown. Algeo is right back up but he takes a knee to the head. Choi opens up with more strikes and the referee jumps in to wave off the fight a little over three and a half minutes into the second round. Choi improves to 15-4-1 and has
his first win after 3 straight losses and a draw while Algeo drops to 18-9. Good win for Choi.

GOOD- Bruno Silva stops Cody Durden
They start with a lot of striking exchanges as Durden pushes the pace.
Silva’s in there fighting but Durden is winning most of the exchanges
as the first round ends. The second round begins with Durden swarming Silva with punches and going for a D’Arce choke on a few different
occasions. Suddenly, Silva lands a huge uppercut that staggers Durden
before dropping him. Silva pounces on him and starts beating the hell out of him until the referee jumps in to stop the fight almost three minutes into the second round. Nice comeback win for Silva here. Silva
improves to 14-5-2 with 1 No Contest and has won 4 straight fights while Durden drops to 16-6-1. Good win for Silva.

GOOD- Kurt Holobaugh vs. Kaynan Kruschewsky
They start off exchanging strikes until Kruschewsky initiates a clinch
a few times. They continue trading strikes in the clinch until the
first round ends. The second round begins with Kruschewsky getting
into a clinch and grabbing a guillotine. Holobaugh escapes and starts opening up on Kruschewsky. Holobaugh is pulling away as he’s really
starting to do some damage now. Kruschewsky is tough, though, and the
second round ends. The third round starts with Kruschewsky jabbing his
way into a takedown. They scramble and get back up but Kruschewsky takes Holobaugh down again. They scramble again and trade submission
attempts until the fight ends. We go to the judges to render their verdict. Holobaugh wins the decision to improve to 21-8 with 1 No Contest while Kruschewsky drops to 15-3 with 1 No Contest. Good win
for Holobaugh.

GOOD- Steve Garcia stops Choi Seung-Woo
They’re exchanging strikes early and Choi lands a hard leg kick that
drops Garcia to a knee momentarily. Garcia fires back, though, and staggers Choi with a big left hand. Garcia continues throwing and drops Choi with more punches. Garcia swarms Choi with his
ground-and-pound that forces the referee to jump in to stop the fight
a little over a minute and a half into the first round. Garcia
improves to 16-5 and has won 4 straight fights while Choi drops to 11-7. Good win for Garcia.

GOOD- Virna Jandiroba submits Amanda Lemos
Jandiroba shoots in for a takedown but Lemos grabs a guillotine.
They’re on the mat and start scrambling. They both look for
submissions but there’s not much going on and the first round ends.
The second round begins with more grappling on their feet until they go to the mat again. Jandiroba grabs Lemos’ back and locks in a body triangle. Jandiroba is looking for a choke but Lemos is fighting it.
Lemos is pulling Jandiroba’s hands away but Jandiroba transitions to a
nice armbar that forces a tap with twelve seconds left in the second
round. Slick work by Jandiroba, who improves to 21-3 and has won 4 straight fights while Lemos drops to 14-4-1. Good win for Jandiroba.

Jake Paul improved his boxing record to 10-1 as he drubbed Mike Perry
(0-2 Boxing, 5-0 Bare Knuckle Boxing, 14-8 MMA), dropping Perry three
times on his way to getting the stoppage in the sixth round.
Paul was much bigger than Perry. I heard 30 pounds was the difference
and I can believe that. I’d also believe it if you told me the
difference was 35-40 pounds.
Perry showed good toughness but he didn’t look very good with his technique.
Paul affirmed the fight with Mike Tyson (50-6, 2 No Contest) is still on for November.
Paul then called for a fight against UFC Light Heavyweight Champion
Alex Pereira (11-2 MMA, 33-7 Kickboxing, 1-0 Boxing). I think Paul mainly just did that to try to tweak Dana White as Pereira doesn’t fit
the usual standard for Paul’s boxing opponents. He generally fights an
older retired athlete or a journeyman boxer. He also picks guys he outweighs, usually by a considerable amount. That wouldn’t be the case
with Pereira.
At the same time, though, Pereira isn’t a boxer.
I don’t want to just dump all over Paul and what he’s accomplished but
it’s not quite as glowing as he would say it is.
Anyway, I’m interested in seeing Paul vs. Tyson and I’d really be
interested in seeing Paul vs. Pereira. I doubt it happens but it’s a
crazy world we live in.

My new epic fantasy book is out. It’s called Kingdom of Zarias: The End’s
Beginning
. The exciting epic fantasy series Kingdom of Zarias returns with the 4th book in the series. After the harrowing events of
Book 3 the residents of the Kingdom of Zarias continue on their paths.
Serena Summers continues to learn and grow as a fighter, desperately
seeking to become stronger before she loses anyone else in her life.
Daniel Summers discovers new parts of the world that open his eyes to
just how little he truly knows. A new hero, Lamar Abeers, arrives to
join the fight against evil. Plus, Zach Summers, Tiana Highsmith, and Xavien Ekens continue their journeys with their friends, and a new
ruler of Vhaharen is crowned. The world has found a little peace.
However, that peace is only temporary. In a shocking act of violence,
the monstrous villain Galren strikes from the shadows and changes the
world forever. This is Book 4 in the series. There’s lots of action,
magic, and monsters in the Kingdom of Zarias. It’s like a tabletop
game in novel form. It’s on Amazon, Barnes & Noble, and many other places. If you’re interested, I would greatly appreciate it if you would check it out and support me. Also, here’s the link to my Compendium book about the Kingdom of Zarias series- KoZ Compendium Thank you
