3 Fights To Watch 6-22-24

Johnny Walker vs Volkan Oezdemir

Somebody getting they ass knocked out in this one, I don’t know who but somebody is outta here. Walker got taken out by Magomed Ankalaev in his last outing, he’s gonna have to turn it around here. Walker was once the future of the division, now he needs to win to stay afloat.

Oezdemir choked out Guskov and is looking to get a high profile win over Walker. Oezdemir got HANDS, I believe he will find his mark against a flailing Walker.

Sergei Pavlovich vs Alexander Volkov

Pavlovich was destroyed by Aspinall early but he can bounce back strong with a win here.

Alexander’s Volkov’s last loss was also to Aspinall but he’s been fight win streak since then. Finishing Rozenstruik and Tuivasa is no small feat. Pavlovich is looking like his next victim.

Hard to say how this one will go and what their futures will be because no matter who wins, they can’t beat the champ Aspinall so whenever it is they fight him next they are going to get sent packing back to the back of the line.

Robert Whittaker vs Ikram Aliskerov

Whittaker split his last 4 fights and a decision victory over Costa isn’t exactly as impressive as it once seemed. Whittaker is cooked but he may as well go out on his sword. I can’t see Whittaker making any sort of run that doesn’t result in a loss to a guy that’s just flat out better than him. He may not be a bum but as far as I’m concerned, it’s all over.

Ikram hasn’t lost since being knocked out by Khamzat Chimaev. I don’t see him losing to a declining Robert Whittaker. The win would be impressive but not quite what it would have been a while ago.

Final Take

A better fight card than we’ve had the past few weeks, with a few bangers thrown in. We will have to wait and see what happens but it looks pretty enjoyable on paper.
