3 Fights To Watch 3-30-24

Vicente Luque vs Joaquin Buckley

Beating RDA isn’t hard to do these days but it’s better than a loss. Luque needs a win like this to garner attention. Luque was on a roll once upon a time, he was highly touted as “the next man up” by some but when he never leveled up enough despite his wins over big names like Tyron Woodley and Belal Muhammad.

Buckley is on a 2 fight win streak but would really get him some momentum would be a cool moment like finishing Vicente Luque. This fight has some big potential, not gonna miss one.

Chris Weidman vs Bruno Silva

Chris Weidman recently said that he’s not retiring just yet but if he gets his ass knocked out, that is precisely what he should do. 2 -7 in his last 9 fights screams retirement. Opening the prelims on UFC 300 is how Weidman should have went out. Instead, this may be the last we actually see of him regardless of what he says, thinks or feels.

1 in his last 5 Bruno Silva hasn’t exactly been taking the world by storm either. He does however have 20 wins via knockout which is how Weidman usually loses.

Virna Jandiroba vs Loopy Godinez

Virna’s 2 win streak is not enough momentum in the ufc these days sometimes; sometimes you have to do something to open everyone’s eyes. A dominant performance would be nice but a stoppage would make waves.

Godinez is a decision queen, 9 wins via decision,  3 losses the same way. Still, she hasn’t lost since 2022. If this fight is boring, both will lose.

Final take

A pretty decent card out of nowhere. I’m not expecting much even though there are some sleepers worth keeping an eye out for.
