Curtis Blaydes vs Jailton Almeida
Can Blaydes make it to a title shot or will he get knocked out when it matters most? I used to root for the guy but he’s more about looking and sounding tough instead of protecting his glass jaw.
Almeida doesn’t lose often and I don’t see him losing to Blaydes who was knocked out in his last fight. Curtis Blaydes doesn’t have a high amount of losses but Jailton has the power to put him down and the submission victories to prove he’s a very diverse fighter.
Katlyn Cerminara (Chookagian) vs Maycee Barber
Maycee has gotten a WWE style push as the next big thing, we’ve yet to see it come to fruition. She’s lost whatever appeal she’s had.
They both beat Amanda Ribas kinda recently, that’s a feather in their caps however, they have to capitalize off of it. Cerminara has already failed to do so by losing to Manon Fiorot. Cerminara hasn’t fought in over a year so she may be an easy fight for Maycee.
One thing we do know is that this fight will likely go the distance.
Mateusz Gamrot vs Rafael dos Anjos
RDS has fallen from grace, now being on the prelims but so have others on this card. Can’t be on top forever. Fighting just to fight it seems. Gamrot needs to run through him.
Honorable mention
Gilbert Burns vs Jack Della Maddalena
Coming off of a loss, Gilbert Burns needs to right the ship. It’s a veteran vs a newcomer, hard to say who has the edge but Burns is no pushover. Burns must rekindle that fire within himself to stop Jack from leap-frogging him.
Jack Della Maddalena needs a decisive win this time around. Winning another split decision like his last 2 won’t turn any heads. His 1st two pro fights were losses and he never looked back.
Final take
Pedro Munhoz is also on the card which shows you the depth of it, he’s fought O Malley in a no contest. Marlon Vera beat Munhoz via decision in his last fight so things card is far more interesting than it may seem at a glance.
Ufc 300 is sad. This card is actually stacked. Now I’ve said that more often than I thought I would recently but the fact that ufc 300 is still visually underwhelming is a joke. Move 3 fights from here to that card and it’s much better.
