3 Fights To Watch 11/16/23

Tony Ferguson vs Paddy Pimblett

If Paddy wins, he beat an old washed up fighter. If Tony Ferguson wins, he beat a guy who wasn’t that good to begin with. That’s going to be the narrative depending on how this fights end. This fight going the distance would be the best outcome for both fighters.

Pimblett is a fan favorite, he also has a mouth on him thag turns some off, hard to say who has more support between him and Ferguson. Ferguson has seemingly had a much different camp this time around and this is the biggest fight of Paddy’s life so it’s a toss up. Whomever wins, it seems like it’ll be a banger and every bit as exciting as it seems on paper. Definitely the fight I’m most looking forward to.

Alonzo Menifield vs Dustin Jacoby

Can Menifield get back on track after going back to back splitting wins between Jimmy Crute? Light Heavyweight needs more action, more contenders; Menifield can be a major player if he can string together some big wins.

Dustin Jacoby has a more difficult path but who knows, with a KO of Menifield he could certainly make things a lot easier for himself. I still see Menifield KOing Jacoby and continuing his path to a title opportunity.

Josh Emmett vs Bryce Mitchell

I’m pretty sure most people are Rooting for Jogh Emmett because of the hate Bryce Mitchell gets. With that said, Mitchell has his own loyal following.

Thug Nasty, Mitchell, only has one loss so naturally he is favored in this one. That loss came almost exactly one year ago. He did beat Dan Ige a couple months ago though.

Emmett beat Calvin Kattar then loss two straight, his career is trending the wrong way. Josh Emmett needs this win badly, a loss here and he will be officially washed up. This one will surely go the distance, with Emmett’s veteran toughness.

Final take

Two title fights brtween absolute workhorse, lots on the line here, I expect the undercard to really set the tone. The prelims won’t disappoint, the card is stacked, it’s gonna be a fun event. Get some good cigars and some good whiskey for this one.
