UFC Fight Night 174 Results

Sometimes we start from the top and give you the biggest results first so you can get your fix and read other results while you digest the big news. This is one of those times so let’s start from the top:

Robert Whittaker vs Darren Till

Winner: Whitaker via unanimous decision

Maurício Rua vs Antônio Rogério Nogueira

This old man, he fought another one, he fought Nog 3 times and won. I guess I agree with the decision. I’m just glad we got a good fightm

Winner: Rua via split decision

Fabrício Werdum vs Alexander Gustafsson

Winner: Werdum via submission

Carla Esparza vs Marina Rodriguez

30-27 ?? Esparza did nothing of note with her takedowns in my opinion and just didn’t

Winner: Esparza via split decision

Paul Craig vs Gadzhimurad Antigulov

I’m surprised Antigulov was submitted, you would think by now that everyone would know what’s coming but I guess not.

Winner: Craig via submission

Alex Oliveira vs Peter Sobotta

Clean fight from the Cowboy, handing Sobotta his second loss and putting him on the dreaded “bubble”

Winner: Oliveira via unanimous decision

Khamzat Chimaev vs Rhys McKee

It is indeed Chimaev island. The man has had two fights and two wins in 10 days! Give him whoever he wants. Put him against a top guy and if he wins throw him a title shot.

Winner: Chimaev via TKO

Preliminary Card

Francisco Trinaldo vs Jai Herbert

You just can’t count a guy like Trinaldo out, that overhand left found its mark and that was all she wrote. Herb Dean really dropped the ball on the stoppage though, it was a KO not a TKO by punches.

Winner: Trinaldo via TKO

Nicolas Dalby vs Jesse Ronson

I picked Dalby to win and he certainly looked confident but as he approached the octagon, I recognized the look on his face, the posturing, it was false bravado. Ronson took him out quickly and quietly.

Winner: Ronson via submission

Tom Aspinall vs Jake Collier

Aspinalli might be a guy to watch, he made short work of Collier and seems to be confident but confidence isn’t enough to get pass the likes of Derrick Lewis and Curtis Blaydes.

Winner: Aspinalli via TKO

Movsar Evloev vs Mike Grundy

Winner:  Evloev via unanimous decision

Tanner Boser vs Raphael Pessoa

Pessoa was BullBoser’d, a lame catchphrase but the only one that is appropriate.

Winner: Boser via TKO

Bethe Correia vs Pannie Kianzad

Bethe has to be done with this company, she got beat up AGAIN and it’s not furthering anyone’s career. Correia did have the advantage at one point

Winner: Kianzad via unanimous decision

Ramazan Emeev vs Niklas Stolze

Winner: Emeev via unanimous decision

Nathaniel Wood vs John Castañeda

Winner: Wood via unanimous decision

Final take

A good card that lived up to enough of the hype, the main event wasn’t the slugfest we hoped for but it was still entertaining. There were a few decisions in the beginning but the TKOs in the middle of the show made things a lot more interesting.
