After two straight losses, what should Derrick Lewis do next?

After two straight losses, I wanna see Derrick Lewis lose a third time and go to Bellator where he can suck even more. UFC has to stop promoting guys that aren’t ready, Lewis is one dimensional and has very little upside. He a punchers chance fighter and that’s not good enough to bang with elite talents like Stipe, Cormier or even a Jon Jones.

Derrick Lewis just needs to settle into the gatekeeper type of role. He’s not likely to win the title, but he can provide some fun fights and will be a dangerous test for anyone in the heavyweight division. He has the power to turn the lights out at any moment. He should work on his wrestling some more but I think he’s just lost to some really good fighters. Maybe he can dial down the aggression a bit but he has to stay exciting so you don’t want a repeat of his fight against Francis Ngannou. I think you match him against a guy at the bottom of the top 10 and see what happens.

From the sounds of things, Derrick Lewis is hurting pretty bad, so he probably needs to take some time off. He’s fought hurt before and he’s also talked of retirement before so he should take the time to heal and decide if he wants to continue fighting.
Lewis is a fun personality who I’d like to see stick around. If he heals up and wants to fight again, a fight with Stipe Miocic may work or if he wants to fight someone a little lower on the pecking order, I’d suggest Tai Tuivasa.
