Who wins Friday’s fight between Brent Primus and Michael Chandler?

Sean Covington, Columnist – Covington’s Corner

It’s really unfortunate the way the first fight played out. Michael Chandler and Brent Primus we’re about to throw down and Chandler’s leg wasn’t ready. Chandler has to be out to destroy Primus this time around. I’m picking Michael Chandler, I’ve been a fan of his for quite some time; he really makes Bellator enjoyable. Brent Primus is going to lose the belt and the win streak all in one fight. Brent Primus is only 8-0 and seemingly has a full career ahead of him but not everyone bounces back so well after such a loss. This loss may very well be the beginning of the end of the career of Brent Primus. A loss like this can be devastating for either man so we will just have to see who will take it well.

Frank Hyden, Columnist – The Good, the Bad, and the Ugly

I’ll go with Chandler in a close decision. I don’t expect a finish, as both guys are so tough, but I do think we’ll get an exciting fight. I think Chandler comes out and pushes the pace and jumps ahead on the scorecards, and maintains that lead throughout the fight.

Cole Henry, Live Event Reports

Michael Chandler. Brent Primus is one of the oddest World Champions probably ever. He is only 8-0 despite having competed since 2010, and really only won the belt in the first place due to an odd injury sustained by Michael Chandler. He hasn’t fought since winning the belt, while Chandler has competed twice and is 2-0. I just think Michael Chandler has shown himself to be a superior fighter up to this point even when taking the first fight into consideration. Primus could surprise us but I think the safe bet is that Michael Chandler wins via 2nd or 3rd round TKO.

You almost need to pretend that the first fight between Brent Primus and Michael Chandler didn’t happen. It was a fluky injury that ended the fight and it appears that Chandler has recovered from it. Chandler is actually the younger fighter here, despite being so much more experienced. I think Chandler gets it done Friday night with tight decision win.
