Main Card

Adam Keresh vs. Kirill Sidelnikov (Heavyweight/265)

Round 1: Sidelnikov scores with a body lock takedown early but Keresh pops right back up. They are in the center and Keresh lands a high kick right on the chin! Sidelnikov is down and Keresh is on him! Sidelnikov is trying to recover but Keresh is landing big shots! And its all over!

Result: Adam Keresh def. Kirill Sidelnikov via KO (Headkick and Punches) Round 1, 1:12

Analysis: It was fun for what it was. Keresh landed a nice high kick and it was pretty much over from there.

Phil Davis vs. Victor Nemkov (Light-heavyweight/205)

Round 1: Nemkov is throwing some heavy leg kicks early. Davis connects with a nice counter over hand right that sends Nemkov back a bit. Both guys are landing short, fast shots and both are having success with leg kicks. Davis slips and he’s down. Nemkov is attacking with an anaconda choke but Davis is defending well. He pops out and they are back in the center. Nemkov is a bit more active so far. Nemkov shoots in for a leg but Davis sprawls and he’s attacking the neck with just a few seconds left. 10-9 Nemkov

Round 2: Its surprising that Davis hasn’t tried his wrestling at all. Nemkov connects with a hard kick to the body of Phil Davis. Right hand lands for Davis. Nemkov lands a jab and then another. Again, just like in the first round he is the more active fighter. Davis is moving slower than normal, but he doesn’t appear to be tired. Nemkov has a body lock and they are both looking to establish position. Nemkov scores with a quick takedown! Davis is up but that likely gives the round to Nemkov. 10-9 Nemkov

Round 3: Davis moves in with a straight left but Nemkov ducks and attempts a single. Very slow-paced fight. Nemkov is throwing lots of volume but Davis is doing a good job of avoiding most of the big power. Nemkov secures an under hook but Phil Davis reverses the position and scores a takedown from the body lock position. He is in side control but Nemkov pops up and they are back on the feet. Front headlock by Phil Davis and he is looking for a kimura with 45 seconds left in the round. Nemkov is defending well but Davis definitely won the round. 10-9 Davis (29-28 Nemkov)

Result: Victor Nemkov def. Phil Davis via Split Decision

Analysis: Phil Davis just never seemed to really get going. He didn’t seem interested in taking the fight to the ground until the third round and it likely cost him. Big win for Nemkov though and he could be looking at a title shot soon.

Haim Gozali vs. Ryan Couture (Welterweight/170)

Round 1: Couture scores early with a front kick that drops Gozali down to the mat for a moment. Couture catches a kick and trips Gozali down to the mat. Couture has a massive lump on his forehead. Couture is looking to land some shots in the clinch, but he isn’t landing much. Not much to write home about. 10-9 Couture

Round 2: Gozali briefly manages to get the fight down to the mat but Couture pops up as soon as he can. Couture is controlling the fight against the fence and Gozali can’t do much of anything about it. Couture completes a takedown with a few seconds left in the round. 10-9 Couture

Round 3: Couture scores with a takedown early and Gozali is starting to show signs of fatigue. Gozali has a half guard but Couture is crushing him down. He isn’t throwing many punches though, he’s just using his weight really. Gozali is looking for an armbar but Couture shakes it with ease. Couture is turning it on late and landing some good shots on the ground as the round ends. 10-9 Couture

Result: Ryan Couture def. Haim Gozali via Unanimous Decision

Analysis: It was a very slow fight at first but once Couture got going he was dominant. Not much else to say really. Gozali is 45 years old and he looked like it after the first round or so.

Patricio Freire vs. Emmanuel Sanchez for Bellator Featherweight Championship 

Round 1: Good back and forth action early. Sanchez connects with a grazing Headkick and follows it up with a nice right hand that staggers Pitbull. Pitbull grabs a leg for a takedown, but Sanchez defends it well. Pitbull has a body lock and he’s looking for a takedown with just under a minute left in the round. Pitbull lands a grazing uppercut, but Sanchez returns a high kick. 10-9 Sanchez

Round 2: Pitbull is connecting early with some nice punches. Sanchez returns a right hand of his own. He keeps throwing a high kick that’s barely missing. Sanchez is throwing a combo that forces Pitbull out of the pocket and he then throws a Headkick, but Pitbull has so far managed to just avoid it. Sanchez lands a groin kick and we have a break in the action. Sanchez is busted open and bleeding heavily from his right eye. Back to the action and Pitbull lands a nice left hand that puts Sanchez down for a brief moment. Pitbull attacks with a body lock and scores with a takedown. 10-9 Patricio Pitbull

Round 3: Good back and forth action early on in the round. Sanchez is pressuring with punches against the fence but Pitbull scores with a takedown. Sanchez is looking very tired. Sanchez is up but Pitbull is starting to put it on him a bit here. Sanchez is returning some shots, but Pitbull just has more power. 10-9 Pitbull

Round 4: Sanchez scores early with a takedown but Pitbull escapes and completes a takedown of his own. Sanchez has his guard, but Pitbull is landing some good shots from the top position. Back on the feet and Sanchez is landing some nice straight punches. Low kick lands for Sanchez and he follows it up with a kick to the body. Sanchez is landing some good combinations here in the 4th round. Pitbull drops for a single leg, but Sanchez reverses the position. This is the best that Sanchez has looked since the first round. Well the round just cut out with about 15 seconds left in the round. 10-9 Pitbull

Round 5: Pitbull lands some bit shots early and Sanchez is hurt! He seems to be okay, but Pitbull is still on him! Pitbull scores with a takedown and moves right into mount. Pitbull takes the back as Sanchez climbs to his feet and he scores with another takedown. Just total domination at this point by Pitbull. Sanchez gets back to his feet and he’s still doing what he can, but he appears to be exhausted. 10-9 Pitbull

Result: Patricio Pitbull Freire def. Emmanuel Sanchez via Unanimous Decision

Analysis: It was a good back and forth fight but something about this card was just lacking. Pitbull seems serious about wanting to fight Jose Aldo but until something changes with the contracts that’s impossible. In the meantime he will look to defend his Featherweight title again soon.
