Who will win Saturday’s fight between Chan Sung Jung and Yair Rodriguez?

Sean Covington, Columnist – Covington’s Corner

Give me Chan Sung Jung for the ‘W’. “The Korean Zombie” hasn’t fought in the UFC for nearly two years. Its been about the same layoff for Yair Rodriguez but Yair is coming off of a loss to Frankie (“The Answer”, to a question no one is asking anymore) Edgar. I don’t think the Korean Zombie is a good match up for Yair.

I’m going with Jung because of his toughness and tenacity. I think the fight goes the distance but I think Jung wins at least two of the rounds and gets the decision. I’m expecting an exciting fight, given the participants, and we get an exciting slugfest.

Chan Sung Jung was devastating in his return against Dennis Bermudez early last year. It’s been a shame that he was sidelined again after his military layoff. Yair Rodriguez had the rocket attached to him at one point, but his push has been stalled as his performance in the cage has waned at the same time. If Jung performs anything like he did against Bermudez, he should be able to take care of Rodriguez. I’m predicting a fourth round TKO for “The Korean Zombie.”
