Khabib Nurmagomedov to UFC: “Keep my money…I hope it won’t get stuck in your throat.”

UFC lightweight champion Khabib Nurmagomedov isn’t afraid to throw his weight around in the cage, and now he’s doing so outside the cage as well.

In a pointed Instagram post made earlier today, Nurmagomedov told the UFC that he will walk out if teammate Zubaira Tukhugov is let go from UFC. Dana White has promised as much since Tukhugov was involved in the post-fight brawl at UFC 229, going after Conor McGregor in the cage.

Nurmagomedov argues that McGregor, nor anyone on his team was fired following the incident in Brooklyn this past April when McGregor threw a dolly at the bus Nurmagomedov was on. In the post, Nurmagomedov also makes it clear that if Tukhugov is fired from the promotion, that he will quit in protest.

“If you decide to fire him, you should know that you’ll lose me too,” Nurmagomedov wrote. “We never give up on our brothers in Russia and I will go to the end for my Brother.”

Tukhugov-Lobov cancelled

Tukhugov was scheduled to fight McGregor teammate Artem Lobov in Moncton, New Brunswick on Oct. 27 but that fight has been called off.

Nurmagomedov also referenced his UFC 229 purse, which is being withheld by the Nevada Athletic Commission.

“And one more thing, you can keep my money that you are withholding. You are pretty busy with that, I hope it won’t get stuck in your throat. We have defended our honor and this is the most important thing. We intend to go to the end.”
