According to ESPN’s Brett Okamoto, Dustin Poirier is officially out of UFC 230 next month in New York. Poirier was scheduled to take on Nate Diaz in a three-round fight in the lightweight division in the co-main event at Madison Square Garden.

No word has been made official on what injury Poirier sustained, but his manager did confirm to MMAjunkie.com that Poirier was injured in training and is officially out.

Poirier was coming off a strong knockout of Justin Gaethje and the fight with Diaz was talked about at one point to be for the new 165-pound weight division championship. However, plans for the 165-pound division were nixed by UFC president Dana White.
