TKO 43 will air on UFC Fight Pass on Friday, May 4. Dylan Bowker of MMATorch spoke to two headlining fighters prior to the event.
Jesse Arnett
Jesse Arnett is regarded as the consensus number one MMA bantamweight in Canada. Big Cat’s last bout saw him capture TKO gold, and he returns to Quebec to make his first defense.
Jesse’s eleven fight win streak heading into this bout is clearly bolstering his confidence and everything seems to be clicking. Even heading into this fight with multiple opponent changes, Jesse remained unphased by all of it. Big Cat had injury and visa issues come up for prior opponents, and a foe was solidified just day’s out from TKO 43.
Jesse takes on undefeated Muay Thai and undefeated MMA product Sebastian Ruiz at TKO 43 Friday, May 4th.
Brendan Kornberger
Brendan Kornberger has collected many middleweight belts in Canada, but there’s still one he yearns for. Brendan has snatched a185lb belt for Unified MMA and Five Star Fight League but wants, TKO’s crown as his Canadian MMA capstone.
Kornberger has the chance to achieve this goal when he takes on champion Marc-Andre Barriault in the main event of TKO 43.
Brendan is also an active firefighter while he concurrently competes as an MMA practitioner. It keeps him grounded, but also gives Brendan a laser focus in moments of high pressure. Brendan is riding a three-fight win streak heading into this fight and the victor of this main event has a legitimate claim to being Canada’s best Middleweight. It all goes down May 4th in Quebec City, Quebec.
