Who wins the Pat Curran vs. John “Macapa” Teixeira fight and why?
COLE HENRY, MMATorch Contributor
Pat Curran at one point seemed like he has a legit claim to being one of if not the best featherweights in the world, but things have changed. Curran has slipped a bit in the rankings and now finds himself fighting John Teixeira. Teixeira is a top contender, and only two judges away from an undefeated record. I’m really not sure what to expect in this fight, so I will take a shot in the dark and say that Curran manages to finish Teixeira by submission and increase his win streak to three straight.

I’m going with Curran. I think he’ll prove too tough for Macapa and grind out a decision win. I don’t think this will be a very exciting fight, but Curran will do what he has to in order to get the win. He wants to get that W so he might not take many chances, but if he gets the win, he’ll take it.

Based purely on experience, I will go with Pat Curran here. It is ironic that both of these men are 30, and have been fighting for roughly the same amount of time; yet Curan has the much higher profile. Curran could find himself in a good spot in Bellator going forward.
