Friday’s Invicta FC 18 loses co-main event, gets another late change due to fighter travel issues

There have been a couple of changes to Friday’s Invicta FC 18 event, as travel issues have taken out Brazilian fighters Taila Santos and Claudia Rey.

According to Invicta officials, via a report from MMAFighting.com, both fighters were unable to obtain travel documents in time to make it to the U.S. for the event in Kansas City. As a result, Santos’ scheduled opponent Irene Aldana has been shifted to the Invicta FC 19 event in September, while Rey’s originally scheduled opponent Agnieszka Niedzwiedz will take on late replacement Christine Stanley.

Stanley has won two straight fights in the Invicta cage, most recently in May, while the undefeated Niedzwiedz makes her organizational debut.

Friday’s event airs live on UFC Fight Pass, headlined by a strawweight bout between Alexa Grasso and Jodie Esquibel.
