Illinois strawweight Felice Herrig has been added to the UFC on Fox 20 event in Chicago this July, 15 months after her last appearance in the Octagon.
According to a report from Red Eye Chicago, later confirmed via the UFC on Twitter, Herrig will face Kailin Curran on the July 23 card, which does not yet have a headliner.
Herrig, out of Buffalo Grove, is 1-1 in two UFC appearances. The 31-year-old won her debut fight on the TUF 20 Finale in a second round armbar over Lisa Ellis. She then dropped a decision to Paige VanZant in her second fight in April of 2015; she’s been out of action since.
Curran, 25, finally picked up her first UFC win in December, submitting Emily Kagan in the second round. That bounced her back from consecutive losses to VanZant and Alex Chambers.
UFC on Fox 20 is the UFC’s fifth Fox event in Chicago, coming one year after their last appearance at the United Center, which was headlined by the UFC Bantamweight Title rematch between T.J. Dillashaw and Renan Barao.
