Patricio “Pitbull” Freire is in need of a new opponent for his return to the Bellator cage later this month, as John Teixeira has been forced out of their Bellator 153 matchup due to injury, according to multiple published reports.

The former Bellator Featherweight Champion is hoping to remain on the card in his first fight since losing that title to Daniel Straus last. That decision loss in November snapped a seven-fight winning streak for the 28-year-old Brazilian, which included two successful title defenses, one of those over Straus.

Bellator 153 hits Spike on April 22 from the Mohegan Sun Arena in Uncasville, Conn., headlined by the debut of former UFC Champ Benson Henderson, who faces Andrey Koreshkov for the Bellator Welterweight Championship.
