“I was told after I fought [Chad] Mendes, ‘Frankie gets whatever he wants’ and I still didn’t get what I wanted. Now it’s my chance again. Are they going to dog me again? Is Dana [White] going to dog me again and not give me this? He can’t. He just can’t… If you want redemption, go in there and fight the guy that poses a serious threat. Not the guy you just knocked out. He wants to prove to everybody this fight with Nate was a fluke? Fight a guy that can do the same thing to him. If Conor wants to show everybody he’s the king like he says, fight me. If you want to silence the doubters, you don’t do it against a guy you just beat. You do it against a guy that poses the biggest threat and especially after the way he lost on Saturday night.”
-Frankie Edgar talks to FoxSports.com and continues making his case for the next Featherweight Title fight against Conor McGregor.
Penick’s Analysis: Until a decision is made either way, we’re going to continue to hear from Edgar and Jose Aldo. Once the decision is made, we’ll continue to hear from whomever isn’t picked about why they should have been. This isn’t going to come to an end anytime soon, and in all likelihood is going to be an issue that remains in discussion throughout the rest of the year until both Edgar and Aldo get their fight with McGregor for that Featherweight Title.
