In a nasty and probably avoidable finish at UFC Fight Night 82, Misha Cirkunov forcefully broke the jaw of Alex Nicholson in the second round of their bout. As would later come out, Nicholson allegedly removed the wiring from a previous broken jaw in order to take the fight with Cirkunov in the Octagon, and he had it violently re-broken when Cirkunov grabbed a neck crank and wrenched it tightly.
