Donald Cerrone’s quick and decisive loss to UFC Lightweight Champ Rafael dos Anjos won’t keep him down for long, as “Cowboy” said this week he’s got a fight lined up and an announcement pending.

Cerrone posted to Instagram that he’s looking to “dust off the saddle,” and says his opponent will be revealed shortly.

Penick’s Analysis: Either he’s stepping in as an injury replacement or the UFC has simply given him his wish of a quick turnaround. Regardless, it’s not the least bit surprising to see him turning right back around. The layoff he had from UFC 187 to his title fight this month was much longer than he’d have liked to wait between fights, and this is more to his liking no matter what happened in that UFC on Fox 17 bout. He may never get himself back to a title fight, but fans enjoy watching him fight, and he’ll continue to get in the cage as often as the UFC will book him.
